Amanda C. Glendinning, MA, HC, Founder

Amanda C. Glendinning has a Master's Degree in Psychology from American University in Washington, DC. Her academic background is in sports psychology and counseling, giving her a unique perspective in working with wellness and mental health.  She has extensive experience in working with clients struggling with severe and persistent mental illness, such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, as well as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and dissociative identity disorder. Amanda has also worked with special needs children. Amanda is a member of the American Psychological Association and the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.

Amanda is passionate about the mind/body connection, having seen the positive results that physical exercise, proper nutrition, and medication can play in creating a balanced lifestyle and improving psychological well-being, including stress reduction. Amanda has a Health Coaching Degree through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and passed the International Health Coaching Exam through the International Association of Health Coaches. Amanda has run 12 full marathons including New York five times, Chicago, and London twice despite having lupus and has lost over 85lbs, utilizing nutrition and exercise to live a happy and healthy life. Amanda utilizes the connection between integrative mental health care and physical wellness in order to get through these challenges and to succeed in challenges elsewhere in life. Amanda can help you make these connections as well.

Taking a humanistic and integrative approach, Amanda focuses on the goals of bringing about positive change and helping individuals conquer those obstacles that have kept them from realizing their fullest potentials. Amanda utilizes cognitive and behavioral techniques as well as Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy.

By combining her past work, her graduate work at American University, her undergraduate degree in Anthropology from Bryn Mawr College, and her Health Coaching Certificate from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, Amanda helps individuals work through their therapeutic concerns, relieve their stress, and reach their goals.
